Declaration of Utah Human Rights
Dear Friends,
As we approach the 4th of July, our thoughts naturally turn to the foundational principles of liberty, justice, and community that shape our nation. It is a time to reflect not only on our shared history, but on the ongoing work required to ensure those ideals ring true for every individual.
In that spirit of reflection and civic commitment, the Utah Citizens' Counsel is re-sharing our founding Declaration of Utah Human Rights.
While Independence Day celebrates our freedoms, this Declaration reminds us of our deep interdependence—the shared responsibility we have to protect the dignity, well-being, and voice of every Utahn. True community thrives when we actively uphold these rights for one another, ensuring our state remains a place of opportunity, equity, and accountability.
We invite you to read through the Declaration today, reflect on its principles, and join us in the continued effort to build a stronger, more just Utah.
