I am a lifelong resident of Utah. Early in my career I worked for Salt Lake County as a social services planner. I helped develop processes to allocate federal and local funds to governmental and non-governmental social service programs. Later I attended law school and worked as a public interest lawyer for both Legal Aid Society and Utah Legal Services. I worked the last 16 years of my career as an Assistant Attorney General serving the Utah Department of Health and later the Utah Office of Consumer Services. Over the years I had the opportunity to serve on the Salt Lake City Housing Advisory and Appeals Board and later on the Salt Lake City Board of Adjustment. Over the years I have come to believe that citizen engagement in making public policy is essential to a properly functioning society.
